Anybody patching 25-35?
What are you using?

Was thinking about using a 1/4" bit on a Lee mold or something else really bright.
It's one of those "gee golly I really wanta try this" things.
Got any ideas on how to make it work?
Maybe thin patch .258's and then size as little as possible?

I like the idea of patching a 25-35 as all the rifles that shot the caliber are antique and are known to really like cast. Checked around for FP mold in the 120 gr class. Never found one.

Maybe a .258 boolit patched and run through a sizer no smaller than necessary would be workable...
Guess I need to determine how big of a finished diameter would be workable.
And figger out whether I have a mold that will fit.
I suspect the 257325 blocks would probably work.

I have no experience with the 25-35 but I have dabbled with paper patching the 250-3000 , I was failing to get them to even fly nose first at first then I bumped up the unpatched size from .250 to .252 and things improved greatly. I need to get back to that project

Not exactly 120 gr. or heavier. But close enough to considering patching. Has a nice mold drop diameter at 260. Resizing the .260 smaller to 1/4 bore (0.250) and patching back up to .259. Piece of cake.
Or shoot as is right from the mold with only a G/C installed. No doubt would fly well out of any 25-35 Winchester. This is the boolit mold I would buy for my use when the time comes to paper patch my 25-35.

Slug the bore. Bullet at bore diameter, patch to groove. Ferget about sizing

I felt compelled to patch for my 25 303. Same bore and rimmed case, so ....

Anyway, fat fingers and small boolits? So I went for 120gr plus - those things are long! Ample long to handle quite easily.

I had made a smooth side mold with a bore ride section and adjustable nose plug as per Longbow. It patched up well. As far as I know it shot nose first. Test tube firings indicated good prospects.

The ring shows patch fragments - all I could find.
