45 Colt

I notice two separate load datasets for 45 Colt one says for Ruger/TC only. Can I use this data if I am shooting from a 454 Casull pistol?

Yes you can,,, Just be sure to mark the box of handloads so that they do not wind up in a firearms not designed for the higher pressure loads by mistake.

That is the nice thing about a 454 Casull. You can load the cowboy loads .45 Colt, the Ruger/TC only .45 colt loads and full bore .454 Casull loads.

Be warned that results may vary. This is much like a 38 used in a 357. It can be worse though with prairies involved in Ruger only 45 colt and the 454.
Freedom Arms warns against any use of 45 Colt in their 454 cylinders. There is a reason for this.

Freedom is worried about erosion in the chambers at the mouth of the shorter case, and gunk causing chambering issues when the longer cases are used again. Oh, and they really like selling $400 conversion cylinders ;)

I shoot full length brass in my F/A's, but I can say I do the same for my .357 and 44 mag revolvers by other makers. I never cared for short brass in long chambers, but many do so with no problems.
