I have a saeco #264 .265 143 gr mold. The bullets that it drops measure oval by about .001". Will a sizer eliminate this? How big a difference will it make if I just shoot them as cast at 50 yards?

I don't think it is a problem. Lots of people "Beagle" molds to increase their diameter perpendicular to the plane of mold division, and all seem to agree that accuracy increases as well.

Fascinating. Since the larger diameter is in the same plane as that of mold division. "Beagling" would, if I understand correctly, make the boolit more concentric around the "axis"(?).

I might consider doing that.

Other way around. The big diameter is perpendicular to the parting lines.

Not necessarily. On a cherry cut mold, it's possible to have missed a burr or two just prior to the final cut. This leaves the block set not fully closed. It will leave you small 90 degrees to the parting line after the burrs are gone.

Dont think the bullet will stay oval after traveling down a round barrel.

Make sure that your oval isn't just OFFSET MOLD BLOCKS - ie., they don't set together correctly, and are offest to one side or the other from each other. This is the usual cause for boolits that are bigger across the parting line than they are 90 degrees from the parting line.
