I posting these photos for more of a reference thing. Some of the Herters lube sizers didn't use Lyman style dies, some used Saeco, and I believe others used a proprietary die of a different design.

When I got this, the Die retention screw was twisted off, I drilled it out and as you can see in the bottom photo, I drilled through the die and into the center post as well...opps  I'm quite sure that die isn't hardened steel ...and check out the size of the lube port holes in that Herters die ...YUGE !

I sold this some time ago, and these are the photo's I posted when I sold it.

Kinda looks like the old Lymans.........except monstrous! Yeah, you got your money's worth in cast iron when you bought from Herter's...

I wish I took a photo of it disassembled, that'd give us an idea of the cast iron thickness...as I don't recall how thick it was.

I have a Herters Mod 49 which uses saeco style dies --
The threaded portion of the die is 5/8" to the saeco 3/4" --
There is not enough room to fit a 3/4 nut without relieving the casting --
The nose rods appear to be the same as lymans -- unthreaded

OH -- the crooked handle is a previous owner modification -- Tall operator, short bench --

Herter's dies on the left, Saeco on the right, with the top punches.

HI Ken

Thanks for posting, looking into getting one was thinking it was an Odd mix of one or the other lubers.
