View Full Version : .30 cal. Lee 170 Flat Pt.
I added another mold today and to my surprise the dimensions of an " as cast " bullet are just about perfect for the bores in my many .30 cal. rifles.
I guess you lucky every now and then.......

Nice looking boolits and very nice picture taking. Please keep us posted on how they shoot.

Will do, they say a picture is worth a 1,000 words. I think someone knew what they were talking about when they came up with that quotable quote..
When people here are talking about something, it seems to help me if I can SEE what they are talking about ! !

Hmmmm, I wonder how that one would work in my .303 paper patched.
I bet an hollow point could be made into it also.
If you're using the Forster drill jig, I'd think that the flat on the end of the bullet would help you to HP the bullet.

I got me an idea those jokers are going to shoot great. They have in the 3 Marlin levers, a T/C handgun, and a Vanguard .308 I've tried them in. Even sized .308" they were great, I don't know if I could get better results sizing larger.

they do really well out of my .30 herrett on top of an ass load of H335
redneckdan, What's the load range for your .30 Herrett, H335, and that 170 gr boolit? I'm messing around with a .30 Herrett.

Let me look when I get home tonight, I don;t have my log books in front of me right now. I do remember it being the listed max in the lyman book cast boolit book + 2.0 grains.
