I have that one too. I got it from my next door neighbor in the 50's when he was getting out of reloading and I was starting. I don't have the box anymore, it fell apart.

Have the same one, only one drop tube but the original steel powder tube cap. I Use it all the time. Box is getting a little worn though.

I found a brand new in the box Redding Beam Scale that uses a cap full of 30 weight motor oil in a built in reservoir, this was there way to slow down the swing, this was before Magnetic dampening. I will take a pic the next time i am out at my Dad's, i let him have it.

I have if I am thinking right 3 of those ideal 55s one has a really long hopper on it dang thing may hold a lb of powder most are in use I just got the box with that one and I do not need it right now. I love the old stuff and the box being in good shape makes it more special to me. Heck I got some RCBS boxes sure they are not old yet but one day they will be lol.

Funny thing is I noticed I still used my old stuff I really love my lyman 61 casting pot it will be a sad day for me when I can no longer bring it back to life.

I would love to use my old stuff if I could find the instructions for them all LOL. Actually that one is listed for sale and would hate to seperate the instructions from it. If it doesn't sale I'll send you a pm.

Not to hijack but maybe you can scan the instruction manual for all to download. I just picked one up and these lyman are built solid and look forward to using and passing along to my kids.

The antique reloading tools website has the No.55 instructions and the measure setting table for powders that were available at the time.

RP, your 55 dates from the mid 1960's. It happens to be the same one I bought new as a 17 year old teaching myself to reload. It's resting comfortably, still in it's box downstairs.
