I've seen earlier posts about Hodgdon's Titewad powder in the 45 ACP. For me, the load of 3.1 grains with a 230 grain cast round nose is a great target load. Consistent velocity of around 660 FPS from the 5" Government model. 3.7 grains of Bullseye gives the same velocity

Good info Al. I've used Tightgroup in the 45 ACP, but not the Titewad.

I have a pound and have shot some. Very similar to a Red Dot load in many respects.

Good solid target load that is easy on the wallet.

I also loaded up what are essentiallly .44 mag loads in a .444 marlin case for my .444 H&R.
Have not shot them yet, but I suspect they'll blow holes in paper.

I bought 3 lbs. when most pistol powder was unobtanium. A nice mild target load even at the max load. Still have a pound and a half. It goes a long way, and is fairly consistent accuracy wise. If I remember right it didn't meter all that well. and I spent a lot of time "adjusting" the loads. Haven't revisited since I have got other powders and a new measure.

I bought a pound a couple years back and was pleasantly surprised when using it in 38 special wadcutter loads. 2.4 grains -2.6 grans under a 148 grain boolit made for cheap, accurate loads.
