For several years now i have shooting 135gr. Ranch dogs with 4.5gr.of ba-7.5 not wanting to beat the little gun to pieces, this was the most accurate load i could find. Today i installed a 21lb recoil spring and it toned down that slamming recoil the camp carbine has,so i decided to try a little hotter load. I went with 5.2gr. Ba-7.5 and my groups were at lot smaller,i then shot noe 155gr. With 3.8gr. Wsf this load was just as accurate. I will crono. Both loads tomorrow and post results.

Sorry for it taking so long to post results of loads, they were way hotter than i expected. 135gr.=1235 and 155gr.=1065. Both are giving excellent results in Camp 9 and several different Ar 9 uppers.

Can the 9 mm round be taylored to the longer barrel for more velocity or is the case just too small? Thanks

To some degree, but nothing like the big magnums. 200 fps over pistol velocities seem to be about average. The highest velocities I have seen posted on the web have come from Blue Dot loads. 9mm major loads are "off the reservation" as far as I am concerned, but it would be interesting to see what they would do in a carbine, but not mine! Most 9mm carbines are blow back actions that are "tuned" for midrange loads and could/would be beat up by excessively hot loads. Not sure how strong the Novem 9 bolt actions are but they do warn against +p+.

I messed around with Longshot and 180gr XTP's in 40 S&W and got some pretty impressive velocities and groupings in my Ruger Police Carbine.

Not sure how Longshot gets along with cast bullets and carbines, but it's usually a good combo of velocity/pressure?

IMHO, the 200fps over pistol loads is accurate except with extreme light bullets and blue dot. If thats your cup of coffee.
