I got a new .460 S&W Mag. and noticed that it come with one compensator for jacketed bullets and another one for lead cast bullets, could some one tell me what the difference is and why? Can the jacketed bullet one be used to shoot cast safely? Trying to make since of all of this

Are the holes the same size?

I have a 4" 500S&W that came with 2 comps. I've never switched to the cast comp and shoot 99% cast in mine without any problems.

The holes are different and the one for cast is much shorter.

Maybe to account for the possibility of a larger diameter bullets that are cast.... Not really sure though

My PC 500 Smith and Wesson only has 1 break and it's not easily removed

My 460 was supposed to come with two brakes. Only got one. Never cared enough to contact S&W to get the second one. I hope S&W is not over thinking something just for a sales gimmick.
