how much mineral spirits do you add to lee liquid alox, and do you mix the4oz liquid alox and the mineral spirits all at one time or just the amount you use, I guess what I am trying to ask is if you mix a 4 oz bottle of alox and the portion of mineral spirits in a bottle that can be tightly closed , can it be reused or will it get too hard to use LOL
Thanks copdills:roll:

I put in about 30-40% thinner. I sometime lube twice. Works great. No problem drying out in a closed container.

Put it in a mason jar or 1/2 size mason jelly jar that way you can nuke it in the microwave. If you zap it in the bottle you can end up with a mess. I've found warming and thinning with denatured alcohol is a lot more conducive than doing it cold.

I put the original container in the microwave, just be sure you open the spout first. Depending on how full it is, it only takes 15 to 30 seconds to warm it up.
When I open a new bottle I fill the rest with mineral spirits, that mixture works well for me.For warming it up I place it in a cup with hot water. Not the fastest way, but who´s in a hurry :))

I use it as-is until it gets too thick to pour. Then I add to the bottle maybe a Tbsp of mineral oil.

Adding a little bran might help, too. :-D:-D

I usually lube 2 or 3 thin coatings of LLA. Seems to work better than one thick one [kinda like painting]. Since I want thin coats, I use half LLA and half mineral spirits. Shake well and ready to go.

I find that a little goes a long ways with thinning LLA with mineral spirits. Just thin till you like the consistancy. If you thin too much it's hard to go back.
