My Ars I built were NM guns so the triggers were Jewels ( Back then the best there was) no probably Gieselles. So I simply bought the needed small parts needed besides the trigger.

Hard to find the parts minus the trigger for that price. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/239400/ar-stoner-complete-lower-receiver-parts-kit-ar-15

Thanks OBIII, I just ordered 1. $35.00 shipped. Going to use it for my new Ruger lower I just ordered from Davidsons.

At that price I'm buying a few. Ditch the grip and trigger and you have everything else you need. Add an ALG ACT for a low cost improved trigger.

That's a deal. A good one. I'm a fan of the Rock River NM trigger for general purpose and the Varmint model for a designated hunter AR.
Best, Thomas.

So let say you wanted to build a nice 5.56 for just all around shooting and target with a nice scope maybe see through mounts what would you get. I'm thinking of maybe getting one. would be nice to shoot out to say 200 yds with nice results.

Frame barrel trigger etc

Good luck getting an answer on that question. Actually you will get everyone's opinion and most of them won't pertain to what you want to build. My advice, buy quality parts. The barrel and trigger will have the biggest effect on accuracy. There are a ton of over priced uppers and lowers on the market. The roll mark isn't going to make it shoot any better.

I seen some lowers for like 45$ the other day.
I'm still not sure you couldn't look around and find a whole lower for like 150$ and an upper for about the same price.
it's quite possible to put an entirely pretty decent AR together for about 350-400$ American right now.
spend some money on a good trigger and scope/rings and for about 900$ you'll have a pretty good varmint rig.

You can buy them fully assembled for sub $400 right now. For someone that doesn't have one buy one of them and then spend money on 1k rounds. Go shoot them all and decide what you want to change.

if I have to shoot a 1k to make up my mind. ?? I shot an hk 91 years ago after 5 shots it was sighted in and then shot 3 in under 2 sec. at 100 all three touching. I know that going to be hard to repete but still wanting a little more something that sprays bullets. Be shooting reloads , maybe some military surplus but 1k I don't think so, unless I find a deal on them.

I know there's going to be allot of opinions but still only know very little about them other then 5.56 is 224 bullet and the ones I have shot which are only a handfull there okay. Not even 100 percent I'm going to get one.

The mistake people make is spending money on a bunch of parts they think they want. Only to find out they don't like them. This is why I said buy a stock rifle and 1k rounds. You can go through that amount in short order w/ non spray and pray shooting. After you have a decent amount of trigger time you will know what you want to change.

Ordered 10. Will sell the triggers at the next gunshow so that will put the cost under $20 for the kits minus the trigger/hammer.

I think that is very good advice.

I think that is very good advice.
I second this. And shoot others ARs to see what you like about theirs.
I will suggest a fixed stock and don't over scope it.
Best,Thomas.
