I remember seeing a post about a homemade cradle for cleaning/maintenance but try as I might I have not been able to find it.
Does anyone know where it is?
Would like to build one.

I don't know which or where it was but in a pinch I use a card board box with a ( V) on each side then dispose of it all when done .

I made mine out of pretty much scrap lumber -
2x6 for base about 24" long
2ea 1x6 x 8" ends - screwed to ends of 2x6 - v-notch at top to cradle rec'v'r and barrel , Notch is covered with green pool table cloth.
2ea 1/2x 2 x 25 1/2" door stop on each side of 2x6 and overlapping 1x6 - These keep the bits and pieces that fall on the 2x6 from disappearing -:)-
While it works for me you may need to adjust dimensions for your weapons -
Come to think of it , it is a mite short for my '66 trapdoor :)

Them are the pictures I saw before.
Looks easy enough to make.
Thanks again

Here's one I made using a $20 set of wood clamps and 3/4" cabinet grade birch. Took me about three hours from start to finish, and works superb. The clamps hold the rifle secure for all kinds of cleaning/work.

I made one similar to that described by Pavogrande, but the bottom and ends were made from 1x12 instead of 2x6, and the sides are 1x4. I added a strip of 1x2 to make a side compartment for oil and solvent bottles, and handles on the ends. Holds more stuff than you will likely ever need. I also keep a piece of that rubberized anti-skid cloth to put under it so it doesn't move when you get to pushing on the cleaning rod.

This is a cradle I modified from plans I found elsewhere. Used scrap 2x6's I had layin' around. The 'T' track is to accomodate the various length Contender barrels I have.
