I saw this in a LGS today, for sale on consignment. The seller has it labeled at $1200.00 but the shop owner allowed as how he would take $1000.00. It appears to be in pristine shape, has a camo laminated stock with National Wild Turkey Federation medallion inlaid. Also, there is a large variable scope mounted. I have no idea what make/model. I don't really have any interest in it but I thought I would post it here in case someone did. If so, I will go back and get more info and pics.

Once again, I have no dog in this hunt. Just know that many here like these and I am curious as to whether or not that is a fair price.

That's about $600 to high.
It would have to be a highhhh end scope to go that much.

2016 was the year of the 500$ handi rifle, or barrel. Depending on where you looked and what you wanted.

This guy obviously knows there will never be another built just like his. So he is pricing it high.
By next year, by my calculations, it will likely sell.

Would I buy at that price? Not in this lifetime. Probably not even if I won the lottery. There is so much else one could buy with that wad of cash.

Will someone, my guess is yes, if not this year then next.

Ohhh and just for the record, I have several, none of which are for sale. Kidnap my grandchildren, kill my wife, rape, pillage and burn. But no one gets their hands on my hoard.
Mine are NOT for sale.

Besides the price, the thing that throws the big red BS flag for me is the National Wild Turkey Federation medallion on a rifle stock. I do have an H&R with the N*** engraved on the right side of the action, but it started out in life as a 3½" 12 Gauge turkey gun.

Robert

I had no idea the acronym for National Wild Turkey Federation was a bad word??????

Supposedly the guy's father won the rifle in a raffle. Also, it is supposedly a "one of a kind". The right side of the action does have the engraving like your shotgun. There have been numerous rifles made for the National Wild Turkey Federation as a special series. I think Remington made a configuration of the 700 to promote them.

Yep! Here's a pic from GB.

Question: If that is a dressed up shotgun receiver, can it handle the high pressure .25-06? I know H&R made two different levels of receiver, one for lower pressure and one for the higher pressure stuff. Just a thought...................

No
The SB1. ( shotgun receiver ) won't handle the pressure.
The SB2 is the rifle receiver.
The only way to know which one it is. You have to remove the rear stock and look at the back of the receiver.

The stock is a Monte Carlo. Looks like a rifle to me. I'll see if I can take some pics tomorrow.

These are pics of the rear of different types of receivers.

#1.

Older model cast iron made prior to 1986.
Can be used with shotgun and low pressure calibers like 357 Mag, 44 Mag, 30-30 and 22 hornet. H&R Inc made these up to 1886.

Current rifle receiver.

Looking at the rear of the receiver is the only way to know.

I have a .25-06 Handi and it's a good shooter, but I think I paid $200 for it. I don't think I've ever met a $1000 Handi.

A former co-worker won a N*** Handi in .280 Remington in a FNRA raffle about 20 years ago IIRC. It was a nice rifle, but not $1.2k nice. I agree with the other posters, it probably won't sell for that now but will eventually. JMHO [smilie=s:

Nice truck gun, no crying if it's bunged up. I'd love to meet the fool who would pay that ..... have a bridge to Cuba to sell him.

Here are the pics I promised. Once again, this is not my rifle nor do I have any affiliation with the seller or the LGS.

It is said to be, and it appears to be, new/unfired. The scope is a Centerpoint (???) 4-16. Evidently a cheap scope.

Here's one from an auction: http://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/1026/465

Based on the sale price of the lot (4 rifles), I would say this one is worth something like $400-450.
