The hollow point mold came from one of the members a few years ago and it needed to have a pin made. I decided to turn one from a graded bolt. . The bolt was chucked up in my old craftsman/atlas lathe. I should let you know that I have very little experience using the lathe. I spent about 3 hours removing metal only to find when I was all complete that the diameter of the flange was too small.. Another turned down bolt and a whole lot of tiny chips, I ended up with this.

love the handle but won't the heat ruin it?

I'll fire up the furnace and let you know. I am thinking if wood can stand the heat then an antler might fair well. If it loosens up, I may need to drill and pin the antler on the metal part.

Nice job. It's always a great day when I find a hollow point mould missing the pin. I point it out to the seller and get the price down, then go home and make a wider, deeper pin for maximum effect on water filled cans and jugs.
