Anyone use these spitfire nipples by MSM, have any experience with them? They carry these at October Country, i get down that way a couple times a month, was thinking about stopping in there and getting a couple to try.

Magnum nipples for your muzzle loader by MSM. Recommended by the North American Hunting Club. These award winning nipples are made from highest quality hardened stainless steel. In their testing MSM has found the Spitfire will deliver up to 100 feet per second more velocity than other popular replacement nipples on the market. The Spitfire will give improved ignition with a wide spread of sparks to the powder chamber. This is achieved through the design concept of a coned or recessed base in the nipple.

Thompson Center made a Hotshot Nipple, i am familiar with it. But this is totally different than the Hotshots. Their claim to 100 fps more velocity seems a bit stretched? I will likely get a few of these the next time i am in the neighborhood, be another test to do along with the NUMEROUS other ones planned

I use them. I like them a lot. They are also the best I have found when using home made percussion caps. I get a lot more fire through the nipple when used on my tester.

I use them as well. I like them better than Hot Shot nipples. Never had a misfire or hang fire with them. I've also never had a cap not ignite when using them. I attribute this to the slight bevel at the top of the nipple, and also very durable. I have at least 600 shots on one and you can't tell it's ever been struck by the hammer.

I used one for years in my main target rifle, and put several thousand rounds thru it before it got beat down by the large Siler lock. No hole erosion, but shot light 40-50 grain loads thru a .45 RB gun. Best I can remember, 4000 shots on one nipple, never had another brand come close in quality!!

I fitted MSM Spitfire nipples on all my smokers, traditional and inline, that take nipples, found that really didn't need the 209 ignition on the slamfires. Put mostly musket nipples on everything I could. They are about the best I have tried and work good. 10
