bp in a linebaugh

i was just sitting around and i had a thought:veryconfu. does anybody load up a 500 linebaugh with black powder?

soon(about 2 months) i would like MGM to do a 500L in a 23" heavy factory barrel( 1 in 28" twist). the bp will be more of a s!@#$ and giggles than hs-6 and titegroup will be. unless the bp does do a 3" circle at 100 yards(3 shots), then it becomes a different ball game!

so does anyone load up the 500L( or the 475L) with bp?

Not the Linebaugh, but I tried it in the 500 S&W. It worked rather well, plenty accurate but the cases are too thick and even with annealing they didn't seal the chamber all that great.

One of the best things about shooting is experimenting with different loads and black in a linebaugh sounds cool. I love shooting it in my .45 Colt sounds great like thunder and is very accurate.

The experience I have had with the 414 Supermag gave good results with 3F and the very small particles at the bottom of the can which is very similar to 4F was far better at sealing the case to the cylinder walls.
In the 454 Casuall 4F gave good results. Was like loading a ROA with 4F. 3F just did not have enough "pop" to expand the brass. So if I ever try the 475 we have it will be with at least 3F and probably start with 4F.
Modern revolvers built like M60A1 tanks have little stress involved with BP.
