And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?"—Daniel 6:20 (http://harvest.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=4f108f827aed8d503b5fca9fa&id=caadcf3579&e=3dd732485b)The Bible tells the story of a man who laid his faith on the line. As the Bible says, “He believed in his God” (Daniel 6:23 (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/x-apple-data-detectors://2)).

Daniel had been elevated to a position of great prominence. Darius, the ruler over Babylon, saw the integrity and value of this man who had so boldly spoken the word of God. The king was preparing to make him the prime minister, which meant that Daniel would have been the most powerful man in the entire kingdom, next to King Darius himself.

But Daniel’s enemies were angry. They were jealous. Yet they could find nothing wrong with him. They knew they couldn’t stop Daniel, unless they had something concerning him and his God. So they convinced Darius to sign a decree that no man could call on any god except the king for thirty days. And actually, the king passed a law forbidding prayer to any god.

What did Daniel do? He didn’t change a thing. He prayed anyway. The trap had been laid, and the king was distressed because even he could not change his own decree. So he sent Daniel into the lion’s den. But God shut the lions’ mouths, and Daniel was delivered.

It is worth noting that God did not keep Daniel out of the lions’ den. He had the power to, just as surely as He has the power to keep you out of any hardship that you potentially could face. But God will allow His people to go through difficulties.

Everyone on this planet faces hardships in life. Everyone faces difficulty. But Christians have the hope that no matter what, God will see us through. That is the great message resounding from the lions’ den. God will be with us in the midst of our adversity and difficulties.

Great reminder rl69 ! Daniel was faithful and steadfast , he refused to NOT worship his GOD . He was delivered out of his trial and there was more to come .

This is a story we all need to remember. Many conceive that God just made the entire universe, and then just sat back and neglected to have any further part in it. But this is what deniers believe, not real Christians. God is VERY active today, probably in more ways than we can perceive. And throughout history, He has intervened and caused great miracles to occur, and this is just one of those. All who've handled any group of hungry animals know without any doubt, that this WAS indeed a very real miracle. They may not LIKE being faced with facts that challenge their disbelief, but .... there it is! God doesn't pay much attention to what we like and what we don't. He just pays attention to what's right, what's helpful, and what's necessary for us, His greatest creations, to survive. But one day, there'll come a harvest time, when all of us will be judged as to our worthiness of entry into Heaven. It's up to us, and our free wills, and what we choose to do with those things, whether or not we'll be judged as "fit" for Heaven, or whether we'll be case away, and forever be apart from God and all the Good in the universe and beyond. I would NOT want to be among those cast out!

Daniel was one of our greatest prophets, and it was so because he truly walked in the way of God, and not his own way. Would that we could all learn a great lesson from Daniel, and the tremendous example he set for us all!
