Powder Measuring on Lee Classic Turret

I'm reloading SR 4756 for the 125g cast boolit for the 9mm, lee auto disc says 4.5 and then 4.8 (max) for this powder. Number one issue, the 4.8 disc comes out to 4.9. Number two issue 4.5 won't cycle in gun. Friend who got me into casting last year gives me his Lee auto disc charge bar to try. Is this the best way to get from 4.5-4.8 in .1 grain increments for my setup?

On a side note, if I were to change presses for handgun reloading, is there another powder measure out there where I can go in .1 increments or all they all similar to this Lee setup? I would kind of like to play around with different loads in .1 increments like I do with rifle.

I've been using lees auto drum measure . I like it and you can set it to what ever you want . The disc charge bar is the only way I know of to get that small of a change with out modifying the holes in the discs .

When I was loading 380 on a lee turret, I modified one hole in a powder disc by adding a screw through a hole drilled into the side of the disk. After I slicked up the part that protruded into the hole in the disc, it became amazingly adjustable, and surprisingly accurate. I had to monkey with it a bit to get the protruding part of the screw slick enough to not grab and hold powder flakes...but once it was tapered and polished, it worked like a champ. Adjustment was easy.....moving the screw in and out of the hole in the disc to reduce or increase the powder drop.

A simple way is to simply start with a slightly bigger disc hole and line with a layer of thin masking tape until you get where you want to be. Another way is to buy a spare disc. Fill the cavity with JB Weld then drill it out and sand it to what you want. This disc will give you several holes for special charge weights Just be sure to Id them so you know what is what
