Hi guys, i have been trying to find molds to fit my old mil surplus guns but not having any luck in the cast mold design diameters! don't want to by a bunch of molds that don't work $$$$$

1st gun a Springfield Armory 1903 (late 1918 vintage 4 lands) looking for a 170-180 gr 30-06 bullet with a nose rider of .304 and a throat of .310 for crown is .303 lands .30957 bore. i know it might have to be a larger gr. due to size but would like to reach out 3-600 yds. as it was made for.

2nd gun is another Springfield in 30-40 krag, throat .315 lands .304, crown is .303 lands .3145 bore, would like to find a mold with the lyman 311284 design which the mold was made for.

are there any off the shelf ? or am i looking at custom for these?

any help would be very much appreciated and thanks.

Go custom or semi custom. Save yourself a lot of grief, time and money.
Make SURE of your measurements and order what you want, not what they make.

I believe there is a 314284 . I have had some success with the 312-155 in a large throat and standard bore/groove . It is intended for a 312-314 groove .

314299 from NOE should be 304 nose.

CHeatermk3, the 314299, is the 314 the base size or just a mold # the .304 wold work great but if its 314 base than sizing to .310 for the 06 going to leave any grease grove?
Thanks for the reply

I don't have any on hand at the moment. The particular mould I have is just over that with my alloy in the Lee 312-155. That is a 10-12 yo mould . The nose is slightly tapered I think also.

Check out NOE Bullet Molds, they should have what you need.

the NOE 314299 will cover both gun's.
it'll have the 304 nose and probably pour closer to 315
you could get the 316299 they make, and size it down to 316.
the NOE's usually pour about .002 over the mold diameter.

I fill the lube grooves first in an over-size H&I die whilst seating checks, then size drive bands nose-first in a Lee push-thru die; this keeps the grooves from closing up too much.

What R5R said about how the NOE molds cast--my 314299 is a Lyman, however. NOE website has the numbers on their drawings(most of 'em anyway).

While you are looking get one of NOE's 314299's that have the checked and plain base ..both will shoot sub MOA out of your Springfields...the .304 nose will work best..that way you can use any powder from BE to 4350 and slower...
Here's a typical Plain Base Group out of my Rock Island..188252

Check out the Lyman 311403 this is a pope design target bullet for the 30-06. It has a PB that is .314 and gets smaller tward the nose. Tim
