I don't have many heroes in my life. This man was one of the few. Parade Rest General.

Alstep,

Long ago, when I was an IOAC student at "The Benning School for Bad Boys" (Class 3/74), I got to shake the General's hand & to speak to him for a few minutes at the O-club reception. = IMPRESSED doesn't come close to how honored that I was to have met him, as his exploits in the Ia Drang battle (14-15NOV65) were one of the subjects that we studied in class.

About 3 years later, when I was again a student, I met GEN Moore & asked him to sign my copy of his 1st published book, which was a military monograph on "the roll-out of" The Volunteer Army at Ft Ord. - He autographed my copy.

REST IN PEACE, General. = Of honorable/brave men like him, THE GOOD BOOK says, "Thou did well, oh good & faithful servant."

yours, tex
