Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.—Proverbs 22:6 (http://harvest.us3.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=4f108f827aed8d503b5fca9fa&id=c950557562&e=3dd732485b)Proverbs 22:6 is a well-known verse. It's often quoted when a child is going astray. It says, "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it." I think that is a great verse, but here is the question I want to ask you, if you are a parent: Have you done your part? Have you actually trained up a child in the way they should go? Do you understand what that means?

Our job as parents is to point our children to Jesus. Listen to this, parent: if you do not take a proactive interest in your child's spiritual welfare, someone else will, and it will likely not be good.

Don't leave it to the public school system to teach your child values. Don't leave it to the media to teach your child what is right and wrong. That is your job, Mom and Dad. Teach them. Lead them. Guide them. Train them in the way they should go. If you don't do it, the Bible says, "A child left to himself will bring shame to his mother" (Proverbs 29:15).

What does it mean to train up? One way this phrase can be translated is to create a thirst in. Create a spiritual thirst in the life of your child. How do you do that? By having a walk with God that is attractive. Have a relationship with the Lord that they would want to aspire to. Create in them a thirst to know God like you know God.

To train up a child is to create a thirst in them for the things of God—by example. By modeling it. By showing them what it is to be a real Christian

No truer words were said. It is our responsibility and not the "village". Great lesson. Thanks. Paul

I doubt there's any more vital message for our nation today, except for the acquisition of Faith, of course. Family is the foundation of our faith and all civilization. A nation that neglects to train their young properly won't be a nation much longer. Bricks need mortar to be strong. Kids need training. It's just that simple.

Liberal theology has preached for decades now, their message to let kids grow "naturally." What they're REALLY advocating is to let them run wild! How could that EVER result in anything good! And we see the result of thier "preaching" all around us today, and it isn't looking good at ALL! Parents have been told that they're not "experts" and don't have the "training" to know how to raise children properly. And so many, many have ACCEPTED that damnable lie!!!! We are born with an inate knowledge of right and wrong, and even the mentally challenged can and do know the difference. How can the average parent NOT know it????

Many have become afraid of authorities intervening, and for that fear, let their kids run wild, without stopping them. Which is the greater price to pay? Seeing one's children go bad, or fighting and having them say they love you later on? This is the question many are answering every day, in one manner or another. But ultimately, there really IS no "compromise solution."

Politics went bad, so that child rearing and human activity could be allowed to go bad. All of it is the devil's work. It certainly isn't God's! And ultimately, we all have to decide which we're going to follow, and God never said it would be easy following Him. Just that it'd be worth it, in the end. And it always IS.
