anyone familiar with this revolver ? ive never seen one before ,didn't know it existed . wife and I got our tax return today and we both had the day off work ,we were out & about paying some bills doing some grocery shopping . there was something she wanted in electronics I told her go ahead and buy it ,so she says to me how about we each buy one frivolous item I said ok twist my arm . so she got what she wanted and said I suppose we have to stop by a gunshop on the way home now I said yea probably .so I was looking in the revolver section and saw this unusual looking square barreled revolver and asked to see it it ended up coming home with me . its a rossi cyclops 6 inch 357 mag I googled it real quick before I bought it and from what I gather they were made in the 90s and was rossi's top of the line revolver and were somewhat sought after . any opinions ?

To me it looks like a Rossi 972 that they pulled off the lathe too early, Ha! The 972 that I have is very accurate, locks up tight, and has a pretty decent trigger. It shoots very accurate and is pretty tame even with full house 357. I would think they are functionally the same. Picked mine up for $200 because it was froze up and couldn't be opened. I popped the plate off and everything looked new, so I went to the crane/ejector. Sure enough, someone trying to be "Hollywood" had "flung slammed" it closed so many times that it mashed the end of the ejector rod shut, which in turn bound the release from opening the revolver. Once I got it open, we just ordered a used part from Numerich for $8.00 and we are back in business. A pretty darn fine revolver for $208.00

Rossi can build good guns when they want to. My 461 is just as good as my Smiths and Rugers in terms of parts fit, finish, and trigger pull and it's not too far behind them in accuracy. Now, will it still be that way 10-20 years from now we shall see. Darn nice little sixgun for $230.00 LNIB.

I had one with an 8" barrel back in 1998-99 IIRC. I was a pretty nice revolver. Wish I would not have gotten rid of it.
