You can do the same thing with a thermocouple and multimeter that has a DC milivolt scale...1 milivolt = 1 degree F.

Its a tool... men like tools otherwise there would not be a Harbor Freight, Northern tool, or WT Tool

Might be interesting to compare readings from the Lyman and the multimeter with probe.

Mixed some alloy tonight, will do some casting Saturday evening , I did get a mount made to hold the Probe , easily moves up and down and swings out of the way , I will give a better report after I do some casting , But I did find out tonight that I was running my pot way to hot before.

I just got one from Midway. I have rebuilt my Lyman 61, installed a guide for the probe, and hope to get it going next week. Looks like a great tool.

For $25 or what ever, that is good value if it is accurate. Will be following this as well.

I tested my Lyman temp dohickey and its with in 5 deg for boiling water , Low, and it right on with my new convection oven with a digital read out , so I guess that its worth 22 bux

I'm wondering if anyone with one of those free Harbor Freight multimeters, happens to have a thermocouple on hand for an experiment?
