That seems like an awful lot of trouble. Wouldn't just a set of dies work?

I do not believe you will need any of the gear you mentioned. Reloading factory cases will be a breeze. Forming cases will be a bit tougher however there are those that will form brass for you are a reasonable price. I ordered case forming dies some years back when 22 TCM first became available but I have found they are only necessary when forming brass from the parent case.

I made a bunch from lake city 5.56 brass. That was before the brass was available. The brass is very reasonable. The factory brass I have seems to be brittle at the shoulder neck area. Just do a little annealing and your set for several reloads. The cases do stretch so a good quality trimmer is needed. If you do decide to form your own an outside neck turner is all you need. If anyone is interested I can share my process for making brass

i bought 2000 cases from armscor ...that should do it for a while.

i just wondered if it was needed after those are used up.

p.s. i do have the recent version of hornady dies.

As inexpensive as the factory brass is, you should be good with it. Unless you are shooting a rifle I would be very surprised if you can see any benefit to turning or reaming the necks (unless you are forming your own brass from .223, then you'll need it just to get rid of the excess brass from forming).

I have a hard time with the factory brass splitting so I made mine out of 223 brass

The factory loaded rounds do seem to split at a higher rate than one would expect. I have almost 2000 rounds of factory and I am considering pulling a bunch down and loading the brass or popping the primer out and annealing it. Have not decided yet.

The stuff I made before the brass was available was made out of lake city brass. Took a while to make but has never failed.
