I've been working on getting Win 10 manageable for the software that will run on nothing else. A few months ago Win 10 started locking the screen erratically ignoring the preset time. Some digging uncovered threads on Dynamic Screen Lock using the computer's camera to watch you. I could not find an off switch, don't think one exists but a piece of black electrical tape over the camera turns the "feature" OFF.

My love says that Win10 also has a feature that monitors the audio, as well as the video. She says these links may be of assistance to you:
https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-disable-the-windows-10-lock-screen/

http://bgr.com/2015/08/05/window-10-privacy-settings-how-to-stop-spying/

She says there are also hidden keyloggers in win10. Basically, it seems to have been developed to report/spy on people. She is very good on computers, has taken courses on computer forensics, and is a civil activist. She says she may be able to help, if you run into problems.

Regardless of the operating system I have tape over the webcams on all my laptops. Also go into the device manager and disable it. Same goes for the microphone. I never use them so they're useless to me. When one of the guys from IT saw that I did this on my laptop he laughed and gave me an "atta boy".

I have had tape over mine ever since my first computer with a camera. I just plug my ear phones in and leave them. they also come in handy when the wife has a chic flick on.
