It's a 12 gage pump, the previous owner (PO) says the cartridge stop doesn't work anymore.
With the bolt closed the cartridge stop pivots up and two cartridges can be fed into the magazine tube. Nothing stops them from being pushed back out by the spring until they hit the bottom of the bolt. PO says this never used to happen: That all of them would stay in the tube until the bolt moved to the rear and the lifter would pick up the next round. What happens now is if you don't get your fingers out of the way and allow the lifter to pivot down, the loaded rounds will pop out and land on the ground.
The cartridge stop has two legs that ride on the bolt to move it up or down as needed. I can't see anything worn, bent or broken, the stop appears to move full up and full down when actuated by the movement of the bolt and the action is clean.

IDK but I'd suggest posting the high res pictures, perhaps the collective mind will come up with come ideas.
