LGS has a Redding Powder Measure for sale. Brown crinkle finish about 90%, internal micrometer, integral shelf mount, no cap for the reservoir, plastic which appears to screw into base. large knurled nut which locks a scale indexed 0-90+, some surface rust inside but everything moves, rapper/hammer secured to base appears to be an original feature.
I suspect from the '50's. Can anyone help me ID the model, provide more info on this item?

I can't help you with identification of the model or time frame of production. If the rust doesn't affect the drum or the body that the drum rotates in and the price is reasonable; I'd recommend purchasing it. Redding stuff is well made and if you can negotiate a good deal due to the appearance and old age, you could end up with a very solid powder measure.

Is this the one you are looking at ? They are top of the line precision machines. If it functions smoothly I would say buy it. $50 would not be an unfair price.

Nope,-the one I saw has the adjustable part inside the unit. Looking on Ebay in the sold section, now I see it described as the Redding Flex Ring PM

Not familiar with that model, but anything Redding ever made was definitely quality. It is an unusual design.

The one Sal is talking about also has the nickname as the Bank Vault model because it looks like it has a combination dial on the side.

I looks for replace reservoir by going to the thrift store and look at their selection of plastic drink bottles. Oftentimes you will find something that fits with some minor fitting.

I have one of these also and I do appreciate the accuracy of it. To find a plastic hopper you have to find a supplier who makes them. I doubt that any maker of powder measures makes his own plastic tubes. There is such a supply stores in Yucaipa, Ca. They have just about any size tube you need. I am sure they are not the only such supply store in the USA. You must buy the entire tube however which is usually about five feet long. The last one I needed cost $21 as I recall.
