Anyone have a good junk yard you visit?????
I'm looking for a part for my 1990 Nissan Maxima.
1988 to 1991 are the same.
Junk yards here don't have anything, and part is no longer made.
None of the on-line parts suppliers have a listing for it.
It called a Power valve actuator.
It controls a butterfly valve inside the intake plenum by vacuum.
Mines no longer holds a vacuum.

try LKQ they have an online website but call the support number because the operators can navigate the parts available better and sometimes have a one off only they know about.

If all else fails, it might take some good old presidential engineering, but If it is just leakilng vacumn, you might be able to adapt the vacumn control from something else.

Never heard of LKQ. I'll give then a try.

I am looking for another vacuum actuator to adapt.
Something that has the same rod pull.
Also one that has about the same spring tension.

Try ebay as well. I've found a few unusual parts for various items there.

I would also recommend you find and join a " Nissan Maxima" forum of enthusiasts. post your same request there and you will most likely find good usable parts available from other members.

I've been searching ebay for a while now. Nothing so far.
I'll check out car parts . com. Thanks.
I've been on three Nissan fourms. No help yet.
I think most people don't even know the actuator is not working.

Not available in the aftermarket ?

The chances of finding a good used 25-year-old vacuum pot is slim. I would suggest looking for something to adapt to it.

We have a few good junk (salvage dealers ) around. Look up Salvage yards in and around Beaver Co PA . Novak's , couple in Pittsburgh as well. They are all on a system and can find parts.

Can it be rebuild , there use to be a place in Pittsburgh I had to go and get a diaphragm for a master cylinder for a 1950 fire truck one time.

Sent me a PM or an e-mail if you need for me to help.

I also was going to suggest Rockauto. Just bought two headlight bulbs and had them shipped for less than autozone sells one for.

Just about all the junk yards I know of were emptied. All metal of whatever type was shipped to China, so they can ship it back in new form to us, and further disturb our "balance of trade." And we sent it all willingly! One of my best friends was in charge of gutting an old foundry of all of value inside it, and most of the metal he and his crew took out was shipped to China, but others made that decision for him. The old foundry is now pretty much an empty shell, and even that is slated to come down when they get a round tuit. I have an old Nissan truck that I couldn't part with, and it's sitting, rotting now. I need to sell it, but just hate to. That old truck sure was a great one! It's amazing how a guy like me, who NEVER gets too attached to "tools," can get attached to a vehicle that took me and brought me back as much and as often as that old truck did. And I think I worked on minor stuff twice in my history with it! Twice. And minor! I guess that's balancing the forces of nature, after that '74 Vega I once had. I could have bought a Cadillac for all the money I put into repairing stuff that was BROKE on that evil machine!!!! I guess maybe the Lord figured I was due a good one?

So far, no place has it.
I checked Rock Auto. They didn't have it listed.
I've seen it listed on ebay. They will not ship to Hawaii.
It looks like an aftermarket part.
When I google it, it comes out only the listing on ebay.
Anything built by man, can be rebuilt.
It probably be easier just to adapt/modify something to work.
I'll figure out something.
like my firearms, I'm attracted to older cars.

I saw those.
One will not send to Hawaii.
Both are for later models.
They can probably made to work. Need to modify the mounting.
Thanks
