I currently have a Lee 356-125RN and leading (Sig P320). Looking for a new mold prefer something other than Lee. Weight doesn't matter. Killing paper and USPSA. I currently TL with White Lable 45/45/10 would like to continue using it.

Can I tumble lube a bullet with standard lube grooves?

Recommendations?

Anyone want to sell some? I really hate the thought of buying another mold if it doesnt workout.

Yes, you can tumble lube a boolit with standard lube grooves. That is about the only style I use. The White label Lube is the same lube I use.
Have you slugged your barrel?
You need a boolit to be a couple of thousandths larger than the groove diameter of your barrel.
Most of my molds for my 9mm are made by NOE. They drop from the molds at .358 with my alloy(range scrap). In most cases but not always, I load them unsized. My 9mm likes the boolits to be .357-.359 so this works out well for me.
My 9mm barrel currently has over 200 rounds of cast through it since the last cleaning and doesn't show the least speck of lead.
My preferred boolits are NOE-358-135-FN and NOE-359-155-TC(ELCO), the latter cast as a hollow point which weighs 147 grains.
You may also have a situation where the case is swaging down the base of your boolit because of the case taper. This can be checked by pulling some loaded rounds and measuring the bottom of the boolit. This can be corrected by better sizing the inside of the case so this doesn't occur. Lots of threads concerning this on the site.

The 2 non lee molds I have that I've loaded 9mm with are the noe 359-92rn and noe 358-124tc. They both shoot pretty well for me on charges of bullseye.

Thanks for the reply

Slugged right at 355. The mold is dropping at 357.
Went through the dies last night and my expander die is setup maybe a little to big as the boolit will slide down the case. This was a change after the 1st set of test bullets. Pulled a few on them and found that I was crushing the boolit causing them to be under sized 352-354.

Setup is 50/50 WW, Lee 356-124-RN (drop at .357, 129gr), Loadmaster - 1. Universal Deprimer 2. full length size 3. powder through expander 4. bullet seating die 5. 9mm FCD.

Round two test was with 3.0gr, 3.2gr and 3.4gr of 700x

The NOE expanders work really well. I have been using their 158gr/145grHP mold in my 357 and 9mm.

Favorite all around 9mm boolits...hmmm. There are so many!
Lee 356-120TC, NOE 358-135 RF (Ranch Dog or the regular one, both great) and NOE 358-155 ELKO (cuz ya gotta have a heavy!). Always sized to .358", Lyman M die for expander.

The LEE 356-125 doesn't give me good results. I have the most success with the LEE 356-120, best all around mold in 9mm, 38 spl and 38 super. I also like the RCBS 147 for 9mm heavy. I've gotten the LEE 358-150 to work in one 9mm that likes fat diameter.

The brand of brass can make a huge difference as well. Some Euro brass such as RWS and S&B is very stiff and will really squish the boolits down. I have no problem with common domestic brass so that's what I use for boolits in 9mm. The thick base slugs such as the 356-120-TC are alot more resistant to the phenomenon also.

That mold cast too small for my CZ 75. I went with the Lee 358-125 RF and size to .358. Noe are excellent molds.

Lee FCD - not for 9 mm. Make sure the expander goes al the way to the boolit base when loaded. KC , mo?
