So I have an opportunity to buy soldier bars buck a pound. Not out to make a bunch of money but I see these for sale and an item we use in casting. I'm really new to this and you fellas have treated me really well and got me casting some beautiful boolits. So if I could offer these up at $1.50/ $1.75 a pound is their a demand. The lil extra covers bridge toll and gas maybe lunch as well. Not all of us are lucky enough to live within driving distance to a killer scrap yard and Roto metals.
Just don't want to get stuck with any more stuff I can live with out. It's funny I get so excited at the indoor scrap yard and I tell my buddy's, I quickly get a story of the stock pile of lead and the fishing weights they plan on making I kinda snicker they just don't get my joy of getting a bucket of coww or lead bars or roofing lead but you guys get it. This one scrap yard is 100% organized all the reclaimed bullets in 55 gallon drums same with coww soldier bars shot ect... and all a buck a pound you guy's would be lead drink. So the best I can do is try to pass some on while braking even.

Depends on the alloy mix but a good deal as bar solder is like $10/#. So yes, put me down for 50#, should fit into a large USPSFR box. If you are in Socal, I'll come & get it.

Fred is that $10 a pound?
In the next few days Sat at the latest I'll pick up 5 or 10 bars they do have stamping so once I grab a few you all can help me I'D them and get them passed around. And 50lb will fit in a med flat rate box. I once built a plywood box filled it with 78lb of lead stapled a flat rate box to it and shipped it to Alaska.

Yes go check prices at HD or Rotometals. At $2/# for say 50/50, you can probably sell all you can get.

Yes, any solder is useable to a caster and for $1.50-$1.75 a pound I would buy 50 or 100 pounds. Prolly more.

No problem selling this. I'd take 50 loads at those rates.

For the most part bar solder is 50/50 or 60/40 either way at $1 lb I wouldn't ask questions I'd buy every one marked or not! Any rolls of solder? I bought out an old plumbers lead and solder supply. $0.15 per lb.

Electronics solder was commonly 63/37. I have about 200 lbs of it from a wave solder machine. Not for sale!.
For the past decade due to to Rohs solder tends to be leadfree 96.5SN%
The higher the tin percentage the more its worth.

I am beginning to understand the value.
Didn't even think about the hundreds of rolls of solder and again a buck a pound.

Yeah those will flat rate box nicely. Just let us know. I pretty much only add tin to my HP bullets, the rest cast fine w/o.

Adding solder to my alloy mixes I favor using 50/50. What markings are on the bars you are getting?Robert

You may do better selling it as solder instead of scrap.

Like every one else, I would buy a bunch. Don't think you can get enough to max out the guys on this site.

At any rate I'm #19 & could buy 500#s or so, or if you need any lino, or mono, I have a couple tons of it so would like to trade.
