Does Goex have to be compressed for best accuracy?????
I'm loading paper cartridge, for a needle gun, and don't think I can compress it much.
I've started to try a loading tube to get the powder packed more even.
Seen a guy at the range shooting a paper cartridge Sharps.
Doesn't look like it's packed very tight.

Common internet wisdom says it does require compression. When I shot it in cartridge guns I'd usually end up with around 0.25" compression. I use plain Goex Fg for breech seating in a .38-55 schuetzen rifle with basically zero compression and it is my most accurate 200m rifle.

I compress it when possible but the paper cartridges don't take a lot of compression before they split out. Goex works with little compression but may have more fouling than when compressed. A slow poor thru a drop tube of 24"-36" should help along with not leaving any air space under the bullet.
