Anyone factory refurbished a Dillon 1050?

The Dillon 1050 is considered a commercial device, and not generally subject to the same no BS warranty as the other Dillon machines. I was wondering if anyone had sent one back to Dillon for the refurbishing service and about the turnaround time and outcome.

I've never sent any of mine in, however a friend of mine did. His was having a specific problem for which he sent his 1050 in for. He was billed over $600 with a list of replaced parts and he claims that the problem was never solved. I believe that Dillon turned this around in a month.

Needless to say, when the subject comes up as which Dillon press is best, he totally trashes the 1050 and promotes the 650. He has three 650's.

Side note: I've been to his house and his presses are mounted on very sturdy benches.

Also this was 6-7 years ago FWIW.
