I took michael moore pig hunting. I was using a .308 with 165 RDs over 30 grs. H4895. Here is a picture of the two of us. Moore apparently went on a diet, here he only weighs 506 lbs. Shot near Grandview, Tenn, WITHOUT dogs.

My guess is just over 1,900 fps. Here is a picture of ONE of his testicles next to my size 12 boot.

That's a LOT faster than Michael Moore can run. Wasn't even fair.

Nice hog!

I used that bullet with 28 grains of IMR 4895 in a .308 to take a nice little buck a few years ago, I did use a tuft of Dacron as a filler. I was pretty pleased with the result, but didn't find the bullet and it didn't create much of a blood trail.

Did you recover the bullet by any chance? I'd be interested in seeing it. What was your alloy?

Looks and most assuredly smells almost as bad as Michael Moore but it can't be, because anyone with a brain knows he has no testicles.

I think you actually took out Rosie O'Donnell instead!

Either way, good job!

The processor forgot to save the bullets. I use wheel weights with tin. I also use dacron. In my Rem 7600 police carbine (16 1/2" bbl), it shoots 6" groups in this load without dacron and 2-3" with dacron. Someday I need to replace the Weaver V-3 scope with something higher end, but so far, it has done OK.

30-40 yards. Again, if I was up in a blind, I would quit at the first shot. It was a shoulder shot that took out the heart and a lung. But the rest of the pig kept on going, as did my trigger finger and pump handle shucker.

I would even dare to say that Moore`s home town would accept him back now along with about 100 lb. of charcoal and about 2 gal. of BBQ sauce.Robert

I had the meat processed, but the one piece I ate was barely edible. My experience is if that large pigs stink badly when you open them up, they are left for the buzzards. This one did not stink so I had the meat processed.

How about you get momma to cook you a pile of bacon and save the grease. We will paper patch some cast bullets with patches cut from the Koran and then use the saved bacon grease a patch lube.
We can discuss that at our next liars club meeting. I'll have the stove warm.

Looks Like he lost some weight! May be because he has no hat! Now that you got him we can look forward to no more socialist documentaries !
The only problem I see is the meat will taste like pansies

Hope the rest of the meat turns out OK. I once tried to eat a boar just a bit smaller than that one and it didn't turn out well. Had it processed into hot sausage but it was still nasty. Last big boar I shot fed the coyotes but it was fun anyway.

:D Nice hog.But yeah them boars sure do stink. Some of them would gag a maggot on a gut pile. When I am able to go out and hunt,I just take the sows.Much better table fare.
Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

What, no hounds or catch dogs! I'd like to have heard Moore squealing with them Black Mouth and 1/2 Pitt dogs stretching him out after a good run! That would have been music to my ears! 10

Them be some dinner plate size chops and massive "rack o ribs" outa that thing. OR a lifetime supply of potted meat!
