TIN-PEWTER, what is it good for?

I added 3% tin to my pot and it seemed to make the fill a lot worse.I used pewter mugs in place of the tin. Has anyone had this problem?

Tin aids in mold fill out and anymore than 2% is wasted. Not sure why you had that problem.

if you have more tin then antimony in the alloy it causes problems.

Wonder what percentage of copper may have been in the pewter possibly? Did the mugs have a hallmark stamped on the bottom?
