I just received my "NEW" Pro-Melt Ladle Pot that I purchased off of auction for a single bid at its reserve price. It was advertised as "NEW" A+ condition ! When it arrived it was not functioning at all although it indeed looked new. After drilling out eight pop-rivets to get to the guts it was determined that the switch was completely filled with grease and inoperable and the rheostat was was miswired and lacked continuity. After buying a new switch and rewiring the pot it now functions perfectly and the thermostatic control holds temperature very closely. Luckily I only had to spend $3.60 at the local electronics supply store for the new lighted switch.

It is a great pot and heats 20 pounds of alloy up to 860 degrees in short order (800watts). I usually use my propane burner for casting but this is a very nice addition to the casting bench when I want to do a short run.

I am now very happy but was very unhappy for a couple hours ! :) :)

BUYER BEWARE ! I lucked out !

Someone was certainly trying to swindle you for sure.

Glad to hear you had the knowledge to repair the thing.
