This should be the last batch of powders I test. I'm pretty sure I've tried every powder I own.

From the top.

Tropic Night Blue
Candy/Psycho Lime
Midnight Navy Blue
Transparent Purple Copper*
Blue Glitter*
Silver Pearl Metallic

*These have glitter in them and it doesn't seem to stick to the lead very well.

Now that you've done your testing where do you go from here?

do you have 'winners and losers' or what did you learn?

Not sure. There are a couple of the colors I like. Others not so much. I don't have any orange powder and want to pick some up. I did learn that some containers crack way too easy. I'd also like to try some good purple and green.

maybe a list of what worked good and what did not, as well as supplier, for those wanting to try the shake and bake.

Get Smoke's sample pack. I do know that his yellow/green tumbles good. I use his orange a lot, but I spray it. It should tumble well too though, it sure sticks great when spraying. Usually the better they spray for me, the better they'll tumble too.

His yellow/green... tumbled:

All but one powder I tested came from Rosey's Powder Coating. Some of those powders are only $3.25 a lb. His Safety Blue and Electric Blue both worked like champs and are available at $3.25 a lb right now.

Doing shake and bake here in N. Texas is always a **** shoot due to the humidity. That being said I had some really good results. I'll go through and compile a list of what worked and what didn't.

That green looks good. I'm looking at doing an order from Prismatic for some green, orange, purple and dark brown.

I did some tumbling earlier this week. It was raining and the humidity meter said 71% with temp of 61° under the shed roof.
tumble coating went without a hitch.

Rosey's Black Chrome works really well tumbled w/ the bb's. The color is awesome. Just did some & it passed the smash test.
