As you're likely aware the EPA regards the sprues we create as a hazardous waste product.

Therefore, as a service to the casting community, I'll take your sprues and turn them into a product the EPA doesn't regulate.

The best part is I'll do it for free. Just put your sprues in a box and mail them to me. PM me for my address.

I'll be happy to take care of the bullets and sprews as long as you could cover the postage and put in a little for my time. It just gets better with each new post.

Well, did you guys consider that HAZMAT fees for postage might apply? :)

If you are in Austin I am only an hour away in Lampasas. We can meet somewhere and do the pass over. I can take a few boxes if your price is right.

Not only that but their sprues are upside down !!! and if you use them it will make your lead stream swirl counterclockwise ..
resultant bullets would counteract the rifling in your barrel :Fire:

Definition of sprue

1: the waste piece on a casting (as of metal or plastic) left by the hole through which the mold was filled
2: the hole in which a sprue forms

Now, which definition of sprue are you using, because I can fit all the sprue (holes) I own, on a regular envelope

you could always pad it with some lube grooves to keep them from getting dinged up in shipment.

If I had all the sprues I've discarded I might have enough to cast one 55gr 22 boolit. :Fire:

That makes my head swirl counter clockwise. Got my lil swimmers on and am ready to go. I figure Galveston to Panama, hitch a ride on a steamer going through the locks then I can relax till we get to the orient then a junk to Sidney. Thought to be close enough to meet. Any other takers?

So how many of you fun luvin cannibals have loaded yer sprues into a smooth bore and let em fly? I always wanted to try that. Might make for some interesting patterns.

I'd send you mine but I found a good use for them. I just save 'em and stuff 'em down the barrel of my BP Fusil de Chasse. They work better than buckshot out of the smoothbore and the nice thing is that they whistle different tunes as they fly and tumble through the air. I had a batch of 'em a few weeks ago that I ended up with from melting a bunch of old minie balls down that I had laying around. When the sprues from those flew through the air they played a perfect rendition of Marching Through Georgia!

Anybody ever notice that casters tend to have a rather wry sense of humor? Seriously, it's good to see some humor here. Maybe the seriousness of the election has helped???? A new hope spreading over much of the land can't hurt, obviously. Just keep them pots hot and the lead flowing!

Better use a big pattern board & stand close.
