Thought I would share some results
New Remlin 1895 SBL 16" 45-70
Paper target is 50 yds 5 shots.
Steel is 5 shot 200 yds
I would say it's pretty dialed in

Should also note I knew the hi shot on the 50 yd target. I slightly released the grip on my front hand this allowed the gun to jump on trigger pull .. totally my fault

I would say so too. No need to mess around with any other loads for that gun, unless you just want to have some more fun doing it.:lovebooli

Nicely done my friend, thanks for sharing. How about a picture of your projectile and loaded round?
I am testing/shooting 30-30, 30-06, and 25-06 loads with your powders and I will post some results here soon. First trials with 30-30 and Red Dot were truly beyond my wildest imagination.
Have you shot paper at 200 yrds to see how they do?

Smoke, your getting the same results I'm getting which I call connecting the dots at 100yds. Your speed is the same as mine is as well.

I cannot see the 200 yard hits but that 50 yard target is excellent. It looks like a great load.

200 yd hits are at bottom very slightly left of center . I did not correct point of aim for the drop .. wanted to see where it was actually and kind of thought the first shot would miss .. when I heard the hit just continued shooting holding same point of aim for 50 yd zero
was surprised they stayed together that well ..
I am happy camper

glad we are confirming each others results
Love that mold. Use it in my Optima 50 cal muzzleloader and knight black sabots. Bullet is Pc'ed the same as a centerfire rd
This year 3 shots 3 dead deer.. All with the NOE 460-350 HP ..2 with muzzleloader 1 with a marlin 1895G 16" blued
Funny thing is out of the 1895G blued ( mfg in the 70's but like new ballard rifling) it chronos 1598 FPS
then out of the newer Remlin 1895SBL SS its only 1500 FPS .. same caliber, same length barrel supposed to be same rifling .. and the exact same load ..very strange
then I got one with a Rossi 357 16" SS rifle

I don't know what year my 45-70 was made but I know it was new when I got it last year. I'm resting mine when I checked for speed and accuracy some months back, and I'm using the NOE 405 gc design. I'm also using the collar button on top of 10gr of unique, quite the gallery load and super fun to use at close range. I also use the LEE 405HB in trap door loads, and use 3031 in it as well as the 405gr load, just less of it. I have a NOE in 350gr coming soon though, but since I have the rifle why not try everything and see which you like.

And yes these are ALL PC'd using your powder, and it still amazes me just how simple and durable that powder is. Don't know if ever when I'll use my lube sizers again.

On another site some folks have accuracy issues with cast, dunno why to be honest but my stuff hits where I aim. And that's rested and not free standing.

I have to go see someone about targets though, I like your Silhouette target.

Getting real tired of those long walks back and forth.

Thanks for the pictures of the purdy projectiles and loaded rounds. I'm loading some now since it's been raining for the last 3 days and have 3 more days of the stuff according to the weather radar. Can't wait to go pull trigger. Nice shooting!

Wow, thats great shooting. Glad to hear the Remlin is working out. Been wondering how they are these days. I need a 45-70 for sure and the older ones are tough to find.

Do you mind posting a photo of the rifle? How's the muzzle blast? Who did the work? Nice shooting.

Never tried 2400 in 45-70 that I can recall, but I sure will now. Nice shooting.

I think that will be a nice contender load.
