What about the gunbroker listing for $800? http://www.gunbroker.com/item/614045193

Oops. Just noticed the listing was for used. Looks like you'll have to be patient. Try contacting Armscor/RIA to see when they're expecint another batch. They're usually really helpful.

No at Davidsons they show the picture but the number in stock is 0 . That's the trouble I've been having no one actually seems to have any

Hmmm. 14+1. Must be a double stack. STI and Para also make
double stacks. Perhaps they have something that will scratch that itch?

I think if you look for a Para, it'll have to be used. If memory serves me correctly, all Para production lines were shut down when they were bought out.

I got one of the plain jane 1911 A1 pistols years ago for very reasonable money and it is a keeper. I held a Taurus double stack and did not like the feel of it.

gunsinternational Do a search for Rock Island Armory Ultra. Last one on bottom is 45 ACP.

I've played with other wide bottomed 1911s the ergonomics didn't work with my small hands but this RIA had "that feel" any other time I've gotten that feel from a weapon I've bought one of budget allowed, it does currently!

Looks like an interesting gun. Make sure to let us know what you think about it once you find one. I'm not sure I'd go for a double stack 45ACP without trying one first but if you got to shoot one and it fit your hand then I guess you should be good to go.

Its got a nice set of features for a good price. I like everything except the front site - I'd prefer a simple plain easy to see flat black sight.

Im guessing you'll have to be patient and wait for them to build another batch - I'm guessing they build them in batches...
