i have about 300 pounds of pure lead and about 40 pounds pure tin.

now i know someone here is gonna say "use the free lead calculator."

that thing makes no sense to me.

i have a cabintree hardness tester and all i really need is a brand of high antimonial shot to add to get
12 to 13 bhn.

i don't do shotguns and know nothing much about shot ...only that i know there is shot that is high in antimony....l'arned that here on cast boolits.com!

I just use simple math
I like 94/3/3
94 pounds of lead
3 pounds of tin and
3 pounds of antimony

For new shot I like Zip metals
http://www.zipmetals.com/EAGLE-MAGNUM-LEAD-SHOT-9-_p_114.html

Around 4.5 to 5% antimony
So I would use around 65 lbs of the shot and 35 pounds of the pure and 3 pounds of tin
Which should give you close to my favorite balanced alloy
94/3/3

magnum shot sizes, 7 - 8.5, has 6% antimony.

^^^ Not at Zip
Not that I have seen. But there may be current production where that is the case. I would get that if I could.

Shot for antimony will cost about twice what adding Rotometals Hard Cast would.

^^^
That makes $$$ sense
You get around 1.5 pounds of antimony For $18.25 plus shipping
as opposed to the shot with 1.5 pounds of antimony for
$37.99 plus shipping

Well, he ask about shot...that wouldn't be my first choice either unless I had access to it for cheap. Superhard has 30%.
