One Sunday morning (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/x-apple-data-detectors://0) at a small southern church, the new pastor called on one of his older deacons to lead in the opening prayer. The deacon stood up, bowed his head and said,"Lord, I hate buttermilk."

The pastor opened one eye and wondered where this was going. The deacon continued, "Lord, I hate lard." Now the pastor was totally perplexed. The deacon continued, "Lord, I ain't too crazy about plain flour. But after you mix 'em all together and bake 'em in a hot oven, I just love biscuits."

"Lord help us to realize when life gets hard, when things come up that we don't like, whenever we don't understand what You are doing, that we need to wait and see what You are making. After you get through mixing and baking, it'll probably be something even better than biscuits. Amen.

if it warn't for biscuits there wouldn't be any reason for buttermilk to even exist.

Nice very nice.

Now here is a true story. When my SIL was living in Montana they were discussing issues and a man asked what the church could do about the John Wayne toilet paper they were sticking with. He stated it was rough and tough but would not take $&@? From anybody.

Except for pancakes & cornbread. Course that's a personal thing.

RL, this is the kind of post that hits me squarely between the eyes, like a 2x4 applied energetically and with determination. Every time I've come back and re-read it, I just sit and smile. God sometimes surprises us with what He says to us, or gives us to deal with, just like in your story. But ne NEVER leads us astray, even when we don't understand just where he's headed. And in the end, He always leads us beside the still waters, etc., etc. Do we serve an awesome and loving God or what?
