I have what I believe is a Japanese made Ultra Hi Flintlock Pistol? Went to the range yesterday and found the mainspring had snapped in half right at the hairpin bend. Is anyone familiar with these and know what I might use as a replacement spring?

I know the gun isn't worth a lot, but I really like shooting it.

Send your broken spring to Dixie Gunworks. They have a lot of spare parts and may be able to find one that closely matches. Alternately, Rich & Roger in El Prado, NM (575)776-5133 advertise in "Muzzle Blasts" and they might be able to make a new one for you.

i repaired a 45 cal cheap japanese old round ball rifle once many years ago. it has a 3 lands and grooves barrel. it was one of the most accurate roundball 45/s ive ever shot. i could not tell you the twist of the barrel. at 50 yards off hand, it was a one hole gun. they must have made their barrels right.
