I'm using the Lee 155 which has a little smaller tip - basically this design is the Ed Harris design that is sold by LEE, NEI, NOE and a few others - works good.

yeah, its a good boolit, I am currently using it too. but I want to get a noe soon, I find the lube grooves on the lee to be too small. they have that harris and also have a 150gr? spire point that has a decent groove, but it is one of those rounded grooves, ive heard lube doesn't stick in those very well, which could be true. but the if you think about it it will be in the neck of a cartridge protected, then fired, so when is it gonna come off, except on your fingers while you're handling it to load.noe also has the 129gr pointed boolit. I have seen it in person and can say it is very nice, but I like the 150 weight class.

I've used the Harris designed, NOE 314-160 FN in my SKS's. Good boolit!

yeah, that's the one I am leaning towards, plus it's the heaviest one,and I wouldn't mind if I could get one from noe,with the hollow point and cup point pins,hopefully they have those in a 3 cavity, if not would they make one, or would that cost extra?

What makes you believe the lube groove on the Lee 155 is too small? Too small in what regards? That it don't hold enough lube? Or some other reason ? I've had two different versions of the 155 and both have worked very well in various 30-31 cal rifles

I use the Lee 155 in my DPMS LR-308 and cycle good no problems.

I use the Harris Lee boolit in the tumble lube version which I Hi-Tek coat. Mine are heavy at around 160grs. A book load of H4895 pushes them around 2,300 fps and accurate.

I dunno, I guess I am just so used to 38spl's and 45-70's, what I started on, I think in comparison those small grooves just don't give me much confidence. but that worry could all be over nothing.

Believe it there's plent of lube held in that smallish groove in the Lee 155 . There was a member herei believe he went by excess 650 that used that bullet with just lube in the small space between the GC and the bottom band that he shot at full jacketed speeds in a CZ x39 with excellent accuracy and no issues running out of lube . I use it in a 24" barrel and don't have any problems . Don't over think stuff lube em load em and go shoot em and enjoy .

My favorite boolit in my SKS arms is the Lyman #311410, 130 grain RN plain base projectile and IMR4198. I use the same boolit in the M1 Carbine.

I wanted a bullet for my Yugoslavian SKS that would function through the magazine, operate the action reliably AND shoot under 2 inches @ 100 yards.

My choice is the Ideal 311466. This design is full size nearly to the nose, allowing me to seat it out far enough to touch the origin of rifling for accuracy yet remain under the overall length for function through the magazine. Power for reliable operation of the action is accomplished with 25 grains w/c 844.

The old Ideal mold casts at 0.3135 and I shoot them as-cast, seating the GC @ 0.314.
