I want to order the NOE .513" 888gr FB mold then size and lube them in my RCBS Lubrisizer II.

This is my first post so please be kind. I've been a novice caster for the past 30yrs. Starting with fishing jigs & sinkers and then into odd sized boolits that were either not available or jacket boolits were too expensive. I'm not new to large molds and have cast hundreds of .587" 1150gr NEI bullets that I shoot in my 577 T-Rex.

I've been shooting 650gr-822gr BMG boolits in my 510 Wells & 50 BMD (not BMG, but I have one of those too) but want to get into shooting heavy subsonic cast slugs. The 50 BMD is a 460Wby case cut to 2" with a BMG bullet on it similar to a 500 Whisper and the 510 Wells is a 460Wby case full length opened up to take a .510" boolit. Both rifles have 1:9" twists specifically for heavy bullets and longer throats for the longer BMG profile boolits. I do not plan on shooting these at high velocity in my 50BMG (about 900fps-1500fps MAX) and do not want the GC style because I also plan on shooting these in a supressor. I cast with WW mixed with 95/5 solder (i'm not too particular on my mix but probably should be).

I want to order the NOE .513" 888gr FB mold then size and lube them in my RCBS Lubrisizer II.
After reading all I could on that mold on this site I still have a couple questions:
1) Will my RCBS Lube II sizer work with these long bullets? Any modifications needed?
2) Should I size to .512" or .513"?

Thanks

I'm no help on the rcbs sizer.
but you can always order a push through sizer from NOE [he does custom work] and pan lube the big guy's.
it would be a lot easier sizing by using the press.
for a 510 barrel 512 should be just fine.

welcome to the board.

There was a post by Mustang or someone lubing them in the Lyman press. No top punch, but a penny was placed on top of the bullet after it was inserted base first into the sizer. Sorry, I don't know how the lyman compares to RCBS regarding press clearance but maybe get you pointed in the right direction.

I have the mold your looking at. Bought it last week but haven't cast with it yet.

Maybe help you out.

I use a push through sizer for my 'big stuff'. 577 T-Rex & 577 Snider but it is a pain and more work than it is worth a lot of the time. I saw the post by Mustang and it was very informative but that was a Lyman 4500.
Has anyone tried these in a RCBS Lubrisizer II? Will they fit?

Thanks, GreyBarn
