Saturday morning I took the paper to the back porch with a cup of coffee to look for yard sales. :coffee:
Listed is an auction for a gunsmith shop (I knew it was coming up but kinda forgot about it). Honey, get up lets go to an auction!
This gentleman passed away 14 years ago. His equipment sat for all those years. He had a lot of stuff. Reloading, gunsmithing, casting, lapidary, leather working. Lots of stuff I had no idea what it was. Somethings I had to think about for a while to figure it out.
Browsed around for a while. Spotted some moulds, dies, measuring tools and other assorted schtuff I was interested in.
There was a Hollywood press on the back bench. I didn’t hold out much hope in winning it. I bought some dies and misc. When they got to the back bench I thought ok here we go.
There was a Pacific press, the Hollywood, a Lyman powder measure and a vise bolted to the bench. Auctioneer sold them as choice, typically started high and worked his way down. I bid at $10.00. Another bid at $15.00. Me at $20.00. Then the crickets started chirping. Everyone just stood there not bidding. I couldn’t believe it. Needless to say I won the bid and took all four items.
I just about missed out on buying the 16’ long bench and contents. I was chatting with a guy asking me what the press was for. I told him. He said he had heard of Hollywood presses, but never seen one. Just about missed the bench, but not quite.
My new Hollywood (left one)along side my Senior press.

Three of the four $20.00 items.

Now for things I brought home that I don’t know what is.
What are these four items? 30, 27, 25 and 264 Calibers I amuse. Made by Vickerman Mfg. Co. Ellensburg, Wash.

These two items were screwed together. Can you tell me what they are?

All in all a very good day. Had to go back this morning to finish loading.
It’s going to take me days to sort and digest what is here.
