I would love one of these in a 38 special. I wonder if they actually exist.

That could be a very fun rifle to work with. 38 spl would be easy to work with and find components for also. A 158 grn or heavier round nosed bullet cast on the soft side around 20-1 or so should make for a very accurate easy to shoot rifle.
