Okay, I have a bunch (50-100) of .357 cases but no .357 pistol. Can I turn these down (shorten) these to the .38 spl length??

Thanks!! Roger

I'd trade before I trimmed that many cases. You would also have the right headstamp on the cases.

You two gents go ahead and trade.

Sorry to :hijack:

But if you want more... I just found both caliber brass at a barn sale today, and I don't really need the .38 or .357 brass...will trade for .44 spl. or .45 Colt brass.

Got a lot of brass and bullets in todays find.

Jim

Note: Please disregard the (all for $5.00 sign) that was box flap price from the barn sale.

Onlymenotu, would you like some .357 brass? (It's new in their boxes)

Can you trade me some good, but doesn't have to be new .44 spl. or .45 Colt brass?

Got about 150 pieces.

Onlymenotu, thanks anyway. Don't feel right about selling the brass I got for practically nothing, so will stick to trading it if I can. Appreciate your offer to buy.

Billyb, got your PM on the .45 Colt brass.

I just picked up a copy of the 1964 Handloaders Digest @ a show. There's an article on how to help keep reloading costs down by saving all your .357's with split necks & then trimming them into .38 spec. Then... when those split & you have a can full, trimming them into .38 Long Colt length. Yep, even then, "prices are high".

Nothing wrong with that, all my .44 Special brass is .44 Magnum brass that got mouth splits and was trimmed back......true recycling!
