Money has finally pushed me to start casting for most 'big game' cartridges. Jacketed projectiles are costing $AU92.60 for 50 or almost $2 each.

Bought a double cavity 400gn mould from "Mountain Moulds" and used gas checks for 44/40 then sized to 0.424 and lubed with Lyman 'Black Gold'.

Good luck! I've had great results with my .458 Lott and .375 H&H but my .416 Rem Mag hasn't responded well using an RCBS molded boolit. But in all fairness I got distracted by other projects.

Your boolits look like they could take any critter on the planet.

The 'key' is the very old and thick Lyman brass gas checks!

That crimp groove certainly looks healthy on the boolits.

If that Lyman `Black Gold` lube is the same old graphite lube from the last century, I hope it works well for you and is less messy as when I used it `back then`. Nice looking boolets all the same.Robert
