Has any one ever moly coated ( the dry kind) a boolit mold instead of smoking a mold for releasing of boolits?

Yes, all of mine are done thataway. Use a new orange wood cuticle stick to burnish the moly powder into the microscopic holes. Orange wood or black locust because of their strong support in holding an edge. ... felix

Sometimes if a mold is giving me grief (won't drop the boolit) I half fill the mold with graphite, shake it about, tip it back into the graphite container and then give the inside of the mold a light wipe with a soft rag, usually helpd smooth things out.

I bought a can of Spray Moly several years ago for the j-words and found I didn't like the mess. Tried it a few years ago on a couple of LEE molds that where having sticky cavities and have since applied the spray to all my molds. They work well and I haven't seen a major difference in the quality of my bullets but I do see them dropping easier.

I also preheat the mold before I spray the mold. It dries the alcohol from the spray very fast then.
