I looked at NOE looks like they have a 383 {370} It also comes as a Hp have no idea what weight it would be as a HP.
It is a Gas check as well as plain base, and like like the profile.

But leaves me to wonder if I should get a Gas Check style????
I know the Lyman cast book shows a few non gas checked styles and weights.
So thoughts on GC non GC?
Best Weight?

How fast you want to push it with what mix? I got gas check molds so I don't worry about how hard my lead is. Under 1400 you don't need a check with 15+ lead. I got a 630gr mold and I push them at 1000fps. No check needed but I still run one. My favorite mold is a 475 RNFP from accurate with a check at 1400fps. All depends on lead and speed

I have had good luck with the Lee 440 grain gas checked, except the gas checks dont crimp on tight.Any WFN or LFN has the best taper for entering the forcing cone.I choose to not use the gas check on velocity under 1400 fps.A gas checked boolit usually shoots fine without a gas check. It seems better not to use light charges of fast powder when not using a gas check.

I've got a couple of great molds from LBT, a 500gr. wfn gc and a 700gr. wfn gc, veral kinda wrote the book on these designs.

I'm currently using a 440gr Lee mold with mine, I really can't imagine anything bigger but then I am pushing them rather fast in my 15" Encore barrel.

Dave, the owner of CH4D dies uses a 375 to hunt Cape Buffalo & swears by 375-400 as the best compromise for hunting.

I have several from 350-440 & have found that range as the ones that shoot best in 6.5" S&W 500. They can be loaded hot or PB & in the 1k range & still shoot good.

I have 2 LBT, 2 or 3 NOE & the Lee. The Lee is least accurate but not bad.

I don't think you can go wrong with the NOE. Mine shoot great.

Anybody have the NOE spire point design? I always found those accurate in 38s and 44s.

That is one of the NOEs I have. It shoots about the same as the others. They all shoot good.
